Two brothers, Buzz and Denny, get lost in the woods while hiking. As night falls, they are directed by a stranger to a cabin where they might seek help from old Dr. Vink. The strange Dr. Vink poses a riddle to them which they must solve before he will let them phone their parents. The boys cannot solve it and he throws them out into the forest. The boys panic as they are left in the woods alone under Dr. Vink's curse. Their only hope is the Phantom Cab.

Everybody is psyched about summer vacation except Amanda Cameron, because she has to spend the entire summer with her obnoxious cousin, Beth. Josh soon discovers for himself the truth about the mysterious Zeebo.
At Halloween, Kevin and Dougie decide they will break with the tradition and visit the scary house of Miss Clove, known to everyone as the Witch. Instead of the usual candies they are expecting, Miss Clove has a special treat for these daring young boys... an ugly, Twisted Claw. The kids investigate to find that a young girl was the victim of a hit and run accident while waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up for their prom in 1956. The boyfriend, never informed of the rendez-vous, drove his car off a bridge in grief. At Dede's urging, the three combine their efforts to bring the ghosts together.
Danny and her parents are planning to stay at a rented house for the summer, which is rather run down and spooky. Even more mysterious is their host, a sickly young boy, Peter, who lives there without any sight of his parents. Danny becomes very suspicious when her parents seem to be aging by the day as Peter seems to look healthier. Danny must fight not only her own fear, but also her parents, who don't believe that their lives are threatened.
Emma and DayDay Toll have some new neighbors who seem a bit out of the ordinary. The eerie family, a couple and their anemic-looking son, wear only black and are never seen during the day. A workman informs the kids that they are from Transylvania. When the mailman is getting unusually tired and pale passers-by sport band-aids on their necks, Emma comes to a natural conclusion, the neighbors are vampires. DayDay is skeptical but Emma is not taking any chances: garlic, crosses, and wooden spikes, just in case. Suspicions seem confirmed as the kids find a store of blood in the neighbor's basement.
